Eligibility Criteria: $200 Monthly Raise in April 2024

Eligibility for the $200 monthly raise hinges on one’s status as a beneficiary of Social Security, SSDI, SSI, or VA programs. While specific criteria may vary across these different benefits, the general premise remains that those currently receiving payments are poised to benefit from the increase.

  1. Social Security Benefits: This includes retirees, disabled persons, and survivors who are currently receiving monthly payments through the Social Security program.
  2. Supplemental Security Income (SSI): SSI recipients, who are individuals with limited income and resources, suffering from disabilities, blindness, or are aged 65 and older, qualify for this increase.
  3. Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI): Individuals who are unable to work due to a disability and have previously paid into the Social Security system through their payroll taxes are eligible.
  4. Veterans Affairs (VA) Benefits: Veterans receiving disability payments from the VA are also included in those who can receive the monthly raise.

Payment Dates: $200 Monthly Raise in April 2024

Payment dates for the additional $200 are anticipated to align with existing benefit schedules, which typically depend on the recipient’s birth date. It’s essential for beneficiaries to stay updated through official channels to know precisely when the increased payments will commence.

  1. Social Security Benefits: Social Security payments are typically made on the third of each month unless the third falls on a weekend or holiday, in which case the payment moves to the preceding business day. For those who began receiving Social Security benefits before May 1997, or who receive both Social Security and SSI, payments are made on the third. Newer beneficiaries receive their payments on a staggered schedule according to their birth date.
  2. Supplemental Security Income (SSI): SSI payments are usually issued on the first day of every month. If the first of the month is on a weekend or legal public holiday, payments are made one day earlier.
  3. Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Veterans Affairs (VA) Benefits: Like Social Security benefits, SSDI payments are scheduled according to the beneficiary’s birth date, unless specifically tied to the SSI payment schedule. VA benefits are generally paid on the first business day of each month for the prior month.

  2. I think if you live in California, are a U. S. Citizen and have paid into social security and have the required amount of years or credits to receive benefits from Social security Sdi, SSDI etc you should automatically receive the golden state stimulus. Seniors, disabled and veterans who live on a fixed income are always exempt because we no longer work or are unable to work. But inflation affects us just like it affects everyone else. We pay taxes on food or household products, we pay utilities and gasoline yet we are not compensated. Why is that? It’s unfair, has been and continues to be unfair. Something should be done to help seniors, veterans
and disabled U S A. CITIZENS WHO have put in their time but are penalized. I think the eligibility requirements should be revised and ALL California residents should receive the Golden State stimulus!!! We all pay taxes, we’re all affected by inflation. I can’t even afford to buy food or the necessities to live half way decently. Governor Newsome should be concerned with all California residents. Open your eyes Gavin the majority of your people are suffering. Step Up to the plate or take a seat in the dugout. It’s time to get serious and help everyone in California. Remember we pay taxes too!!!
